The Wedding Vision – All the Fall Vibes!

Fall weddings in North Carolina are extremely popular. Creating fall wedding invitations are some of my favorite! Imagine my excitement when Megan wanted all the fall vibes for her September wedding!

Megan’s colors were rust, mustard, and hunter green which were beautiful at her outdoor wedding. I also provided wedding coordination for Megan so I was able to stay for the entire event. Her bridesmaid’s dresses were to die for (hint: they were velvet)! Her florist, Hillside Florist, brought her fall floral vision to life! Overall, this was beautiful fall wedding!

The Invitation Suite

Megan wanted a unique and personal look for her fall themed wedding. We decided on a trifold invitation with fall watercolor foliage. We also included a small illustration of the wedding chapel at her wedding venue. The venue illustration was the perfect touch to make her wedding invitations personal to her vision as well as a fun preview of her wedding venue for her guests.

Megan chose a four-piece stationery suite that included the trifold invitation, the rsvp card, the rsvp envelope, and the outer envelope. She also chose to tie the trifold invitation with a piece of jute twine. Her stationery suite was delivered to her with the trifold invitation piece scored, folded and tied. She chose to stamp her own invitations so the rsvp card and envelopes were bundled separately. All she had to do was stuff, stamp, and seal!

We chose a cream, premium paper stock and added the watercolor fall foliage to the envelopes as well.

Like all my stationery suites, I printed the guest addresses and the return address on the envelopes.

Styling the Wedding Details

One of the favorite services to offer while I’m coordinating weddings is flatlay styling, especially if I created the wedding stationery! Flatlay styling is simply gathering the details that the couple wants pictures of and arranging it in a beautiful and meaningful way. For Megan’s wedding, I styled the invitations, her shoes, the wedding rings, her flower crown, and a meaning gift from a friend.

I love styling the details for my couples because it ensure they get beautiful pictures in their wedding gallery. My photographer friends are really the ones who love when I’m able to offer flatlay styling. This helps them stick to the timeline and capture more of the wedding. Megan’s photographer was my good friend Shelby with Daise Photography. All of the images included are Shelby’s beautiful work.

Styling Megan’s flower crown was so much fun and a first for me. Hillside Florist created this beautiful flower crown that Megan wore throughout the entire day. Another unique item was a decorative bee pin that was a gift from a friend because Megan is a beekeeper! She later pinned the bee to her bouquet.

Fall wedding invitations are a favorite for me but spring wedding invitations are close behind! Check out this spring suite here.

Fall Wedding Invitation Ideas

What are my recommendation when it comes to fall wedding invitations? First of all, make them personal! That could look like a venue illustration or incorporating a special flower into the design. Maybe adding a unique artwork that means something special to you as your envelope liner. There isn’t a right or wrong here!

Fall wedding invitations that I love usually are incorporate the deep fall color pallet. I love using rust, terracotta, hunter greens, all the typical deep fall colors. If you are using a specific color pallet for your wedding, showcase the colors in your wedding stationery.

No matter what season, or theme, of your wedding, your wedding invitations should set the tone for your wedding celebration as a whole. Just because you are getting married in October doesn’t mean you need to put pumpkins on your wedding invitations. Especially if you aren’t using pumpkins anywhere else in your wedding.
